“ Untold stories from Reds’ Hinterland” is a collection of human stories, especially of women and children in Eastern Bihar hinterlands which once were under the strongholds of Maoists. All the stories are based on true events and reflect how life was challenging there. Forgotten and forsaken, the region gives Nelson’s eye to the modern world, that was a lost civilization, gradually being wiped out, never to return. Years of neglect by the state machinery have made even ordinary folk hostile and suspicious. Stepped in poverty and illiteracy the villagers are today a disillusioned lot, some becoming markedly pugnacious and the others seeking refuge in Maoist ideology. The indifference and apathy of not a few district officials was shocking, to say the least. Barely handfuls were genuinely interested in the implementation of various government sponsored welfare projects.
Women Emancipation Derailed
After looking at the level of exploitation the women face today, it is evident that reasoning with women and men has completely derailed. With the women participation in public affairs, freedom to women has increased but promiscuity among men too has escalated manifold just because women are easily available to them. No doubt, women have more liberty today but question is at what cost? On one side, she is overburdened with double duties, on the other, as she moves out of her home she faces two legged wolves roaming in the streets ready to pounce upon her. We have tried to diagnose this social anomaly in this book and have attempted to find ways and means how to protect women’s modesty without affecting her personal, physical, educational, psychological, and social development. WRONGFUL vs UNFAIR DISMISSAL
“The connection between employers and employees has been revamped because of the instantaneous elevation of the corporate sector. The nature and number of disputes have sprung up due to the existence of antiquated employers in the industry. The frequent conflicts include age, harassment, pregnancy, biased view of superiors, long hours of work, low recognition, inter alias.
The Constitution of India substantially regulates matters related to the employment sector in India. ‘Right to work’ has not been unequivocally embodied under the Constitution of India. However, in 1985, the Hon’ble Supreme Court widely interpreted Article 21 through its judgment in Olga Tellis&Ors.vs Bombay Municipal Corporation &Ors[1], included ‘right to work’ under the fundamental right of ‘right to life.’ The Central and State governments have framed specific laws to regulate employment matters, namely Factories Act, 1948, Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, Payment of Wages Act, 1937, Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, Shops and Establishments Acts, etc. Municipal laws, collective and individual agreements, as well as judicial precedents, cover a muster of issues, which may be general or specific.
An employer and employee draw an ‘Employment Contract’ when they enter into a legal relationship. This contract condenses the terms of the relation, nature of the work, rights and duties of the parties, working hours, etc. The most ordinary meaning of ‘Dismissal of employment’ refers to the cessation of the employment contract by the employer against the wish of the employee. An employee may be dismissed on various grounds; the nature of the same may be fair or unfair or legal or illegal. The factors which are included under the umbrella term of ‘dismissal of employment’ include inefficiency of workers, information theft, misconduct, fraud, sexual harassment, violation of contract, personal biases, amongst a few.

मसलन, खिड़कियां में दादाजी के भोलेपन के बहाने खिड़कियों के पारंपरिक और प्रचलित लाभ के साथ जिस तरह से पड़ोसियों पर ताकाझांकी के व्यवहारिक लाभ का वर्णन किया गया है वह सहज हास्य के साथ वर्तमान परिवेश पर अच्छा व्यंग है । बहुत सारे लोगों को इसी में जीवन का स्वाद मिलता है ।
इसी प्रकार हर कथा भावनाओं के पटल पर जीवन के अलग अलग रंग बिखेरती है । बलि में अनाथ बालक भीमा को सहारा देने पर दीनू काका के प्रति गांव के लोगों के व्यवहार के माध्यम से जातपात की परंपरागत कुरीति का वर्णन भी संवेदनाओं पर प्रश्नचिन्ह लगाता है । सामाजिक न्याय के लिए पूरे समाज से टकराने की अद्भुत कथा है बलि जिसमे भीमा जैसे अनाथ के त्याग को भी अद्भुत मानना पड़ेगा ।
फौज की आंतरिक व्यवस्था या दुर्व्यवस्था का जिक्र शहादत कथा में यथार्थपूर्ण लगता है कि राष्ट्र के लिए प्राण गंवाने के जज्बे के साथ जो व्यक्ति सेना में भर्ती होता है, उसमें विद्रोही भावनाएं क्यों और किस प्रकार की परिस्थितियों में पैदा होती हैं?
सत्य तो यह है कि प्रारब्ध की हर कहानी जीवन के हर पहलू से पूरी नजदीकी से परिचय कराती है और रोजमर्रा की जिंदगी के तनाव को हल्का करके मानवीय संवेदना को जगाने का सफल प्रयास करती है ।
मां कह एक कहानी
बालमन बहुत की चंचल होता है, ऐसे मन में हजारों ऐसे सवाल होते है, जो किसी भी कल्पना से परे होते हैं। बालक के मन को तमाम तर्कोंं से भी शांत करना आसान नहीं होता। तभी र्इ्रश्वर ने हर बालक के जीवन में माँ जैसी एक ऐसी सहनशीन नारी दी जो अपने बच्चे की हर सवाल का जवाब बहुत धैर्य और प्यार से देती है। माँ कभी गुनगुनाकर, कभी आसमान के चाँद – तारे दिखाकर, कभी अजीब शक्लें बनाकर, कभी परियों की तो कभी राजा – रानी की कहानी सुनाकर अपने बच्चे का लालन – पालन करती है। माँ की हर कहानी में कोई संदेश, कोई नैतिकता छुपी होती है। लेखिका ने कुछ ऐसी ही छोटी – बड़ी कहानियाँ इस संग्रह में पिरोयी है।
