The power electronics industry is growing faster with the latest technologies and continuous developments to meet the customer requirements. With these expansions, the variable speed applications are adopted in both the direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) systems, gaining importance. The thyristor-controlled rectifiers play a significant role in DC drives because of their excellent performance characteristics like torque-speed and effective-flux control . However, the variable speed induction motor drives (IMD) are essential in research and related industry applications. This technology has been used because of its applications in inverter with pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes, which generate a poly-phase supply of a known frequency .Induction motors (IM) have notable advantages like excellent self-starting capability, high efficiency, very simple and rugged structure, high torque-to-weight ratio, low cost, absence of the commutator, and small inertia .
