Dr. Rayees Afzal Mir

Prof. (Dr.) Rayees Afzal Mir is serving in the School of Agricultural Sciences, Glocal University, since 2013. Dr. Mir obtained specialized Master’s degree in Plant Physiology and Ph.D., from Forest Research Institute University (FRIU), Dehradun, India. He has been teaching and undertaking research in plant physiology, biotechnology and molecular biology as well as environmental studies for the past 10 years. Dr. Mir has contributed significantly in disseminating information on key topics in plant physiology to undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral students through offline and e-learning projects. He has received many national and international fellowships, awards, appreciations, and recognitions for his services to the science. He has supervised 12 M. Phil and 8 Ph.Ds. so far and has international collaborations. He has to his credit more than 60 research publications in peer-reviewed National and International journals and 15 book chapters in edited volumes with international publishers along with 12 National and International patents. He is the fellow of ICFRE and MoEF and climate change. At present, Dr. Mir serving as an editorial board member and reviewer of several high-impact international scientific journals from different Publishers.
Currently, Dr. Mir is serving as Head of School of Agricultural Sciences as well as Director Research of the Glocal University, Saharanpur. He is engaged in studying the plant processes at eco-physiological as well as molecular levels and also involved with a number of international research projects with different government organizations.
